MA1862 one of the Forrestfield hump yard shunters finds itself shunting a superphosphate train at Bassendean on 22 March 1980. The MA later hauled the 64 wagons in length train back to Forrestfield. Locomotives were in short supply at this time.

L257 in experimental Westrail international orange livery together with WBC brakevan pases through Hazlemere heading to Midland on 13 January 1980. At Midland a rake of grain wagons will be collected (from the now closed storage bin) to take back past this location then to Kwinana.

N1874 hauls a loaded coal train out of Kwinana yard on 16 January 1980. The N later became an NA class and later still was purchased by South Spur Rail Services.

Trailing the train hauled by X1002 was the historic brakevan Z9. All freights at that time had a brakevan on the tailend.

X1002 "Bibulumun" hauls a mixed freight around the western leg of Woodbridge triangle heading to Forrestfield on 15 January 1980.

English Electric K206 hauls an empty Indian Pacific Passenger train to Forrestfield for servicing on 22 December 1979. The K class were not liked by many railfans on the "IP" and hoped for the reintroduction of the former "Commonwealth Railways" locos. This occurred a few years later with the CLP class. Today we would all be out chasing a K on the "IP".

Clyde/GM A1506 in the WAGR green colour scheme heads through Fremantle with a mixed freight on 20 December 1979.A1506 was later purchased and exported to New Zealand, but never worked again.
